The standard engine produces 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. The turbocharged package adds a Twin-Scroll Turbocharger that puts out 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. When fueled with premium unleaded (93 octane or higher), the turbo engine reaches its maximum output of 256 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque.

The entire Mazda CX-5 series has a six-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift selection and Sport Mode, along with standard i-Activ AWD®. On the Mazda CX-5 2.5 S Premium Plus trim and above, the compact SUV also includes the Mazda Intelligent Drive Select system, offering Sport and Off-Road driving modes for enhanced control and versatility.
